Housing Programs Policies

The housing programs policy section header: Families and individuals with insufficient means to obtain decent housing can receive assistance through a number of federally funded and state and local government operated programs. The housing programs of the federal government provide grants and guarantees to state and local governments, government entities and private financial institutions. Laws and their implementing regulations also direct how and where federal funds are directed, emphasizing preferences of the program or agency. Federal law also governs some private market activity, especially in providing rental housing opportunities fairly.
